Default Stars 5/10 Hand #2

Full table. I'm in cutoff w/ AK clubs.

1 MP limper who's got about 1200. No reads on him yet cuz he just sat down for 5 min and hasn't played a hand yet besides his blinds.

I raise to 50. Got him covered. He calls.

Flop is A97 w/ 2 hearts.

He checks, I bet 80. He raises to 300.

Now what?

Fold, it's either a semi-bluff or a set. I really don't think he's doing this with AQ.

Was the ace a heart?

With no read I fold, there is a good chance I think he has a real strong draw with the board that is out, but I dont want to play a big pot here b/c you dont have much chance to improve to a hand confident calling a big turn bet

fold. he won't pay you off with a worse hand, and you're going to get owned otherwise.

Nobody thinks its possible that villain's bluffing? Generally the preflop aggressor will bet an ace-high flop heads up with position... if MP knows that he'll bet with a very wide range of hands, a check-raise bluff can be profitable. Anyway, I'm kind of rambling.. basically I hate this spot. Folding seems way too weak, but I don't want to play for my whole stack on this one.

You really need to know the player for this kind of situation when the players are good (I'm assuming).

The ace wasn't a heart.

I mucked after much thought. Pretty much came down to fold or all in and I wasn't willing to push in that spot w/ a draw heavy board.
