Stars 5/10 Hand #2
Full table. I'm in cutoff w/ AK clubs.
1 MP limper who's got about 1200. No reads on him yet cuz he just sat down for 5 min and hasn't played a hand yet besides his blinds. I raise to 50. Got him covered. He calls. Flop is A97 w/ 2 hearts. He checks, I bet 80. He raises to 300. Now what? |

Fold, it's either a semi-bluff or a set. I really don't think he's doing this with AQ.

Was the ace a heart?

Re: Stars 5/10 Hand #2
With no read I fold, there is a good chance I think he has a real strong draw with the board that is out, but I dont want to play a big pot here b/c you dont have much chance to improve to a hand confident calling a big turn bet

fold. he won't pay you off with a worse hand, and you're going to get owned otherwise.

Re: Stars 5/10 Hand #2
Nobody thinks its possible that villain's bluffing? Generally the preflop aggressor will bet an ace-high flop heads up with position... if MP knows that he'll bet with a very wide range of hands, a check-raise bluff can be profitable. Anyway, I'm kind of rambling.. basically I hate this spot. Folding seems way too weak, but I don't want to play for my whole stack on this one.
You really need to know the player for this kind of situation when the players are good (I'm assuming). |

The ace wasn't a heart.
I mucked after much thought. Pretty much came down to fold or all in and I wasn't willing to push in that spot w/ a draw heavy board. |
