I'm looking to book a weekend in August. I've never actually played at the Borg, but I will be and expect to have a decent amount of people down with me for my b-day. Will I be able to talk them into giving me the poker rate?

Yes. You need to play a minimum number of hours to qualify. Just call in advance. Also, post when you're going to the NYers can plan on taking a trip down when you're there.

Last year and this year so far:

Summer Weekend: $150, fixed
Summer Weekday: $100, knocked down to $79 w/4 hrs play or $59 w/8 hrs play
Non-Summer Weekend: $125, fixed
Non-Summer Weekday: $100, knocked down to $59 w/4 hrs play or $39 w/8 hrs play

I believe you need to have a minimum number of poker room hours (15?) in the past to qualify for this rate. Also, only a certain number of rooms are available at the poker rate.

As of last night, 4 hours of play gets you to $59 plus tax, 8 hours will get you down to $39 plus tax. I don't know if prior play is required for this rate, but I did have prior play.

I booked for a few nights in early July tonight, and am kicking myself for not calling sooner. They're "fully committed" July 8 and 9, and who knows about the 10th -- I didn't even ask. I've stayed at the poker rate probably 6 times over the past 12 months, and they did confirm for me that they're making a seasonal increase in rates as described above. This made it sound like they'd be back down to the lower prices (125 regardless of play on weekend, 59/39 with 5 hrs/8hrs weekdays) in the fall/winter, as poster above suggested. This is semi-good news, since I think if the prices stayed this high I might might might start to consider the Comfort Inn North in Absecon. As is I'm gonna have to see about booking something there Friday night 7/8.

Anyone gonna be up there these dates (7/6-7/9)?

[censored], that'd be awesome. I wonder if the higher rates go into effect in July? Or just later in June?

I'm looking to be out there July 8th and 9th. Maybe I'll look at getting a room at the Trop. I don't know what their poker rate is, but I do know I'm not paying full price for a room at the Borgata.
