Flop: (7.40 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, UTG calls, MP1 3-bets, Hero calls, UTG calls.

Pretty much standard.
Given MP1's postflop aggression, you might wanna put in another raise somewhere, either the flop or the turn. But he also doesn't play a lot of his hands which means he can really have you beat so the way you played it is perfect.

Against an unknown I would cap the flop and call down from there if villain keeps pushing. Against this particular villain I think you played it fine. Villian's sky-high AF suggests he knows where the fold key is, so you don't want to lose him if you're ahead. More importantly, his molecular VP makes it extremely likely that he's got a set. (There aren't any hands that a 9% VP player limps with that make anything other than a set on this board).

So nice hand.

nice hand. MP1's tight/passive-aggressive stats could go 2 ways: he's either a maniac with his holdings (any draw or pair even if less than TP) or only gets aggressive with very strong hands (trips and 2 pair or limped AA/KK).

against the first kind: cap the flop.
against the 2nd/3rd: play it the same.
unsure: play it the same.

** grunch **

I put your rock on a big pair or 88. The other guy I have no idea and it could be anything including a straight draw and I'm a least suspecting 77. You are probably beat but with an overpair why not call the biggish pot to the river with two others in??

I would do the same thing.

But yeah, I hate it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

After a bit more play UTG turned out to be an uberfish -

90% / 3% / 0.43 over ~50 hands.

*grunch* This looks pretty good - but I might try capping the flop - the flop is just what you like to see for QQ imo.

I don't think MP1 would have limped KK or AA here, he already had one person to see the flop with him. Two pair or trips are ahead of you, and the pot is already too big to try to make straight draws fold.

If he bets into you on turn, I'd might call down then. But this mofo has 9.00 agg so I dunno, lets see what everyone else has to say.

If MP1 has 9%VPIP and 9pfa does that mean he raises every hand regardless?

I'd cap the flop or raise the turn the way you played the flop.
