Quick background, 2 hands right before this villain raised utg to 400 and then called my utg+1 allin with ato and I doubled with AK, I'm not sure if this makes my play better or worse but here goes. Oh also the limper had limped in ep and folded to raise before.

Any thoughts on if pushing preflop here is +ev? My main concern was that calling would put me in a weird spot with the limper and with my read that the limper didn't need a hand and how loose the SB was I thought I'd simplify things a little. Doing a little math, If I'm called here by sb (not worrying about limper) 30% of the time and half of the time he has overpair and other half he has overcards I'm winning around 300 or so. Any thoughts?

This raise from the blinds is usually not some joking around raise. Your play seems sloppy. I suppose you will occasionally get a fold from maybe TT or JJ? But its far more likely that the best case scenario is that u are racing. Calling here is OK, folding here is OK too, especially if there is a chance the limper may reraise. Stacks are a little shallow to be playing 99 for set value. Its really not a crime to fold here pf. I think fold/calling are both better than AI tho.

only time I'm pushing like that w/99 is if somebody has been stealing a lot and makes another suspect raise from LP, otherwise , considering your stack size, I'm calling and hoping for a nice flop [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
