Villian is 25/14/2 after 50 hands. The only hands I've really seen him show down were a few hands where he called flop bets with overcards and donked the turn/river when he hit a pair. Once he gets involved in a pot postflop, he doesn't like to fold.

What is the best plan:

1.)3 bet and let the hand play itself.
2.)Call and donk/3bet the turn.
3.)Call and checkraise the turn.
4.)A different line entirely, involving some kind of flop check...

IMO, #2 by a wide margin. It looks like an ace not wanting to give a flush draw a free card, or a flush draw that hideously misunderstands its fold equity. You'll get an ego raise from AK extremely often.

yeah and if he only calls your turn donk, check raise the river and pwn him. i fold this preflop though.

I didn't make it clear in my post, but it was 5 handed, so I was the CO, and the blinds sucked. I'll open any suited A or K in that situation.

The only problem with #2 is that you can't really be sure he's going to pop that turn unless you know he's pretty aggressive postflop. I think a flop check-raise may be best here because he will either call, then raise the turn (in which case you 3-bet) or he will 3-bet the flop in which case you can check-raise the turn.

Of course, this is assumigng he's got a bigger ace. If he has KK-TT I still think this line may be the most we get out of him.

A turn check raise seems like the best way to let him fold TT-KK, doesn't it?

I'd call and quick check the turn like you're pissed your kings got raised with an Ace on board and then check-raise his arse. With the read it sounds like he'd love to bet his AK on the turn once you check. If he's got kings he won't give you turn action if you three bet the flop and there's more ways he can have AK and possibly AQs then KK or QQ so I'd initially play it like he had AK and you got him dommed so I'd be trying to extract a little bit extra and I think a turn check-raise does that.

He's almost never going to be 3-betting TT-KK on the flop, let alone still folding to a turn check-raise.

if we are *quite* sure he will bet the turn, then call/CR turn is good.

if there is any doubt at all, 3 bet and go from there.

im not sure this is so close really - taking a less optimal line because of a 2 flush flop HU is not good play.
