6m: KK hand
Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, SB calls. Flop: (6 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, SB folds, Hero? --- Villain's unknown and bought in with a stack of maybe 10bb. --- Alright... Here's some possible lines: 1) Cap to the river. 2) Three bet the flop and call down vs a cap. 3) Three bet the flop and bet the turn vs a cap, calling down vs a raise. 3.5) Three-bet the flop and bet the turn vs a cap, folding to a raise. 4) Call the flop raise and checkraise-cap the turn, betting the river and calling a river raise. 5) Call the flop raise, donk the turn and call down vs a raise. 6) CAll the flop raise, checkraise the turn and call down vs a three bet. 7) Call the flop raise, checkraise the turn and fold to a three-bet. 8) Call down vs this raise. 9) Call the flop raise, check-fold the turn. --- Lines that I think are actually feasible: #2, #3, #6, #8 Specifically: 2) Three bet the flop and call down vs a cap. 3) Three bet the flop and bet the turn vs a cap, calling down vs a raise. 6) CAll the flop raise, checkraise the turn and call down vs a three bet. 8) Call down vs this raise. --- I don't like #8, because we have an overpair and could be against a passively played JJ or something like that. So, it seems to me, but I could be wrong, that 2,3,6 are the best lines. Any preferences between these lines? Am I wrong that these are the best lines? |

Re: 6m: KK hand
I vote #3, though a turn c/r is ok as he is unlikely to be raising for a free card.

2) Three bet the flop and call down vs a cap. 3) Three bet the flop and bet the turn vs a cap, calling down vs a raise. 6) CAll the flop raise, checkraise the turn and call down vs a three bet. 8) Call down vs this raise. [/ QUOTE ] Some of these depend on the turn card, of course. (An A would royally suck.) 6 is too risky (of losing bets if UTG checks behind) and 8 is just crazy talk. Of these, 3 is best IMO. I'm not slowing down to a flop cap. I might try to go 3 bets on the turn, but that's probably excessive. |

Re: 6m: KK hand
first lets correctly assume that you have the best hand a VAST majority of the time. I like to 3 bet hands like this when I'm OOP, as a deterrent to him raising the flop later. calling and checkraising the turn is also awesome if you haven't been catching many cards and have been c/folding the turn a lot. if I 3 bet and am capped, I bet out turn and river and call down if raised. if I c/r the turn I'm calling a 3 bet and calling the river, but that is up for debate. against a passive player, I could fold the turn

Re: 6m: KK hand
With that raggedy a flop, I've noticed, especially in my limited 6-max experience, that if I 3-bet the flop, he just folds his A9os, knowing he's possibly only drawing to 3 outs. (4.5 if you throw in the BDSD)
Sadly, I've been calling his raise on the flop, then check-raising the turn. I'm really hoping he's got AT and is going to bet. Or JJ. So, I guess I'm most inclined to take #6 as my line. Though, sometimes if 3-bet on the turn, I'll call, then donkbet the river. And call if raised. Too hard to believe KK was cracked without an A on the board for me. |

Re: 6m: KK hand
Any line that involves folding sucks. I think you should bet the turn and possibly 3-bet a turn raise, calling down any more action. I'm not sure how aggressive .5/1 6-max is though, so maybe calling down a turn raise is right.

Re: 6m: KK hand
If he's got TPGK, seems like he'd be betting the turn if you called the flop, allowing you to check-raise. If you 3 bet the flop, he's likely to slow down, and we lose a SB compared to 3-betting the flop and leading the turn, assuming we're ahead.
If he's just trying to push you off this hand figuring that the board missed you, who knows if he'd call a flop 3-bet. If you lead the turn in any event, he may fold, best chance is to check and allow him to continue bluffing. If he's ahead of you now (wouldn't think so), he's still going to bet the turn. This isn't a draw-heavy board, so it's not likely he's raising for a free card. So, I'd like to call the flop raise here, and check-raise him on the turn. |

Re: 6m: KK hand
That play is really risky considering he might check behind on the turn. This losing you a SB from the flop and a BB from the turn.

Re: 6m: KK hand
I vote for #3.
3-betting is fun, and I want bets going in on this flop. I wouldn't really want to get fancy in this spot; bring out the steamroller. |

Fun would be: call the flop raise. bet\call the turn. check\raise the river. |
