3195 at first break. My table had a few super-loose donkeys but I didn't get nearly as many of their chips as I hoped. Ah well.
Table 200.

I think what you say has a ton of merit. I'm still playing but I'm an action junkie. I really do hate the payout structures.

At least my reason is after a number of second final tables in big online tournaments where I have played extremely well only to get a little bad luck at the end I get basically no payment, it is not commensurate with the performance.

They do it so they can bloat the top payments and I don't think that makes sense.

T3595 at the first break. I had AA and KK stand up. Must be Christamas. Of course I didn't win much with them.

to compare Party is paying $375 to 400th place, and $4000 to 19th place, for a tournamnet with 250k less in the prizepool

So what? I still don't understand how that makes this bad. The reduction in variance from a flatter payout structure has it's advantages.

Better players are going to have higher finish distributions than other players.. so this is basically taking money from the better players.

I don't think it's enouogh to counter the 100k overlay though.

this is similar to the problem players have with the 20% payouts.

I don't think its terrible. Yes it's weighted towards a huge first prize, but they are still paying > 20%. I'd guess most people didn't buy in directly. I won my seat for $20.. So I have a good chance of cashing for at least $800 on my $20 and an off chance of cashing for $175k. Doesn't seem so bad to me. If I were buying in directly I might not like the structure, but that's why I never buy in to big money tournaments directly.

so you won't be dissapointed when people change the payouts to hurt better players?

A great player can play a hundred of these tourneys and never even make the final table. I don't have a problem with a flatter payout structure.

My QQ held up against 88 all-in and I won a decent pot next hand with TT. Up to T6335.

I'm out. Card dead something awful. So I donked my way down from 3100 to 1300, pushed J9s late and ran into big blind's AA.
I hate feeling like I've wasted two hours of my life with nothing to show for it. I never had a chance.
