Default Great Browns ending (sarcasm)

I put money on the Over in the Browns game. It was 36 1/2. 44 seconds left. 4th and 4 for the Browns on the Titans 12 yard line. Here comes veteran kicker Phil Dawson for a 29 yard chip shot to make it a two possession game and to cement a 23-14 win. The kick is up and it's goooooodddd! But wait...

Holding, on the offense. 10 yard penalty. Repeat 4th down.

Okay, well it's a 39 yarder now for the veteran Dawson. Should be easy enough.

WIDE RIGHTTT!!

Bye.

Just as good was the 1st half bet for the 49ers +7.5

Losing 3-0 they complete a pass down to the Giants 2 with about 1:45 remaining. Called back for holding. Penalty. Penalty. Int on 3rd and 28.

Giants then go on to score a touchdown on 4th and 1 from the 30 yard line on a playaction to that jackass Shockey for a 10-0 halftime lead and a big LOSER on the bet.

I put a (for me) huge amount on SD -6.5 + SEA -4.5 and while Seattle will roll, Brooks Bollinger rallied the troops on 3rd and 18 to complete a 20 yard pass to Wayne Chrebet???? and then a quick TD to Coles. Once my game was secured as a loss, however, he couldn't score on 1st and goal from the 3 to win the game.

3rd and 18 != 1st and 3

There were 40 mph winds in the stadium (one reason why you probably shouldn't have played the over in the first place), so the kick was hardly a gimme. Actually, I'm kind of surprised Crennel went for the FG in that spot, especially after that SD-PHI ending a few weeks ago.

Still a brutal way to lose a bet, but it would have been a lucky win also, considering the way the game had gone to that point.

I had the Raiders/Chiefs under at 50.5 today. After KC scored on the last play to set the total to 49, they lined up to attempt a meaningless PAT. Anyone see Kerry Collins lined on the PAT block team? Most of the Raiders had headed to the locker room. I was afraid KC would get a free 2 pt conversion, but I lucked out, as some Raiders stayed on the field.

It was 4th and 4 from the 12. Run a safe play. If you don't pick up the 1st down, the Titans have to go 90 yards in 35 seconds with no timeouts. McNair can't even limp down the field that fast if they do complete a miracle pass play to put them in hail mary range.

I might be wrong, but in that situation, of all the conceivable ways you could possibly lose the game, I think a fluky blocked FG return is probably the most likely.
