Default I folded a boat on the river here...

All involved in this hand were loose/passive.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, Hero raises, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls.

Flop: (14 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, MP3 raises, Button calls, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (13 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks, MP3 checks, Button checks.

River: (13 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks, MP3 bets, Button raises, SB folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, Hero folds, MP3 folds.

Final Pot: 16 BB

Should I lead because of the absence of a turn bet? Is this at minimum a call with my J's full? I hated this hand.

River fold was good unless the pot was like 365 BB.

Must bet river.

Why wouldn't you?

I would have bet the turn and seen what happened afterwards. You've got two pair, the flush draw and the ace over card. I think it's worth betting to either clear out some players or build a huge pot for your flush draw (which I realize would lose to a full house, but why play scared?).

Problem with the river the way you played is that after the check fest on the Turn and the early checking on the River, an aggressive player with an okay hand might bet at it and you have no way of knowing where you really are. Hands that might still be around to take a stab at it include: 55, AA, QQ, AQ, Q10, Jx, Ax. Many more than the Kx that beats you. If you bet the Turn, the River quandry might not arrive.

And, yes, I would have bet the River again after being called/raised on the Turn. At microlimits. I think you win this enough against chasers to warrant staying in the hand.

My thoughts.

I would have led the river.

And I think you have to call 2 bets on the river too. If someone slowplayed a K, think of the bet you saved on the turn.

Seems weak to me. Yet I do it all the time.

What if the Button had the last J and decided to bet it?
Makes sense, does not it? He called it down with the J hopping to improve and he did?

I would have bet the turn. You've got the nut flush draw. The only hands that beat the flush are K5 and KJ. MP3 isn't looking to check raise as only the button is left to act after him. If you get raised you can fold.

55 and JJ would already have made the full house.

Yes, the J came on the river, but at the turn, you wouldn't know that yet.

If you get raised you can fold.

You're saying I can fold if I bet the turn and get check-raised? I think not sir.
