Default Shameless Job Post

Hi all,

This is a shameless request for some job hunting help in i-banking. I recently graduated from a top 5 school (undergrad) and am having a bit of trouble finding a position that starts now or soon as opposed to next summer. What I'm looking for is the chance to exchange some PM's with some of you out there who may be in investment banking. I've been working with career services at my school, but their ability to help graduates is limited (they focus on seniors graduating in may). Since I want to start as soon as possible, I'm open to just about any type of analyst position, but I'm still having trouble finding a good fit. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. As I said, I would enjoy having a conversation with any of you with experience/knowledge in this area. thank you.

P.S. I decided to post this here because I felt the audience who read this forum may be the most helpful. I can have it moved, if necessary.

Ed is right, you're basically [censored] for jobs next year. What school did you go to and why haven't you gone through any career services there?

I never trust people who post something like this. Just tell us the school.

Who did you interview with during your senior year?

What was your degree?

economics & history double

MS Fixed Income, Bear Stearns, Goldman, and a few other smaller places.

basically I took the summer off and spent time at the jersey shore/travelling with friends. I finished my second degree in july and waited till september for them to grade and process.

That's why i waited, I was told by career services I needed to have degree in hand to apply to most places because they were asking for transcripts.

I gotta agree with Evan on this one, that is just plain awful advice and I would expect a lot better from the Yale career services office. Im currently a senior and all the interviewing on my campus is just wrapping up for next fall positions, so youre kinda out of luck for the fall recruiting process but there may be some more immediate position available out there, theyre just harder to find. Go to career services and yell at them for a while and make them find something for you...some companies do winter and spring recruiting too so look for that, not sure about I banking but maybe some of the smaller ones.
