Default Re: Hey Ribbo ...

I started with limit. Limit teaches you with time the importance of good starting hands. The biggest mistakes are made preflop. PLO8 needs a very particular mindset, one which isn't each to come by. Yes the game is about pushing edges, you can read my thoughts about it http://www.ribbo.com/omaha2.htm . PLO8 is also grinding, but with a larger variance, although you can play it with a very small variance by playing the exactly opposite of the way I do. I would recommend for the $25 tables, no bluffing and show the guy on the button no respect whatsoever. If you're playing in a loose passive game, suited aces are your friend. Stick to limit until you can be certain you are winning at the game, (should take another 3 weeks before you know for sure) Then give pot limit a bash, but whatever you do, never play the NLO8 on pokerstars, it's a horrible game.
