Scary pre-flop action with KK (25NL)
New to this forum, I just started nut peddling on PP NL25 recently as a diversion from my bread & butter - SNGs. Anyway, I've found these NL25 games to be incredibly soft, but I just had a hand that was interesting. UTG+1 had been a bit on the LAG side, but not so much pre-flop. Usually he could be counted to bet every flop that he saw...

I just couldn't think of another hand that he's mini re-raising with here. I guess it was just 25 NL donkishness. How is my line here? Is my pre-flop call after the re-raise weak? On the flop, I figure that I'm either way behind or way ahead, so calling entices him to bet the turn when I'm ahead. Comments on all streets appreciated. Not that I had even considered laying my kings down pre-flop here, but I'm used to NEVER laying them down in a SNG, regardless of the pre-flop action. Again, I wasn't going to lay them down here, but I'm wondering if a never lay them down pre-flop policy just isn't the way to go in low limit ring games too? |

At this level - push after he puts in the 3rd raise. I'll take my chances with KK here.

Re: Scary pre-flop action with KK (25NL)
For the last few hands, I've been tracking what my opponents actually went all-in with preflop.
With all the usual disclaimers about limited data and I'm still learning this game so I don't know what I'm talking about, here's the list-- Q2o (that's what got me curious enough to keep track) AA KK AA TT AQs AQo ATs KTs JJ AA If this list is anywhere near representative, then you can keep the same policy you had in SnG's-- never lay down KK preflop. |

Re: Scary pre-flop action with KK (25NL)
Thanks guys. After this hand, it got me thinking that at least at 25NL, I'm just going to use the same policy on KK that I use on SNGs.
I had heard that there were some donkeys on 25NL, but the level of play has really shocked me. I have an ROI on the $11 SNGs of over 30% but my $/ hr on 25NL is actually higher (over a small sample size). At this rate, I might never go back. |

SNGs are not good for making money.

SNGs are not good for making money [/ QUOTE ] I've built a nice roll playing them, but I just started playing poker a year ago. I figured that they would be a cheap way to learn. I started playing cash games recently because I wanted my game to progress from being just a push / fold bot. |
