I played tennis for over 25 years, starting when I was 10. I played on the 1986 NAIA National Champs (Flagler College) and then played professionally soradically for two years, mostly in satellite events (sort of the tennis minor leagues). I did qualify for the French Open and I got to play such tennis greats as Ivan Lendl, Mats Wilander and John McEnroe. The highest ranked player I ever beat was Brad Gilbert when he was ranked number 4 in the world.

I've played tennis for about 25 years as well, except I never played competitively past high school. Well, I did dominate intramurals mixed doubles in college when my partner was the #1-ranked tennis player in some NE state. She had scholarships to anywhere she wanted to go, but got sick of collegiate athletics and quit after her freshman year. One or two years out and she was eligible for intramurals.


Please talk about your matches with Lendl, Wilander, McEnroe, and Gilbert. And any other interesting matches and tournaments. If you want to start another thread talking about tennis, that would be great. Or, if you don't have that much to write and would like to write it here, that would be great too. Thanks.
