Default AQ 3-bet pf in position

Opp is 25/10/1.8 and has been pretty aggressive with his hands. Because I 3-bet preflop and he donked into me, I felt obligated to raise the flop and represent a big pair. When he just called and donked the turn, I was somewhat confused but I thought A-high might be good here a reasonable amount of the time, and pairing either of my cards might be good. Because his postflop play has been decent, I also thought there might be a chance he was just bluffing and tried to donk to look strong, as I've got a very tight table image at this point.

Grunch,

Just a personal preference, but with numbers like that from the villian, I'm usually laying AQo down preflop to his raise.

edit: That being said, AQo is a hand that wins most often by making top pair HU/with few players in the pot. When the flop misses and MP1 bets, I fold.

I really don't want to isolate with someone who plays decent postflop and has those stats so I am folding preflop. If he is a typical donk than I would 3-bet here and probably with worse hands. As for the rest of the hand I would call the flop and fold the turn unimproved.

I like the PF 3-bet because a 10 PFR has a wide opening range from MP1. The turn is pretty close - looks to me like he wants to bet/fold a medium PP so I would probably raise since you have a tight image providing he's a decent player capable of folding, otherwise I'd fold.

IMHO. You overplayed your hand on every street other than the river.

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 50.8974 % 45.64% 05.26% { AdQc }
Hand 2: 49.1026 % 43.84% 05.26% { 88+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, AJo+, KQo }

Looks better than I thought at first. The difference in EV between 3-betting and folding is probably negligible. If you have a solid read on him and feel you can outplay him then I like the 3-bet.

3 Bet PF is fine since his PFR is high enough that you are ahead of his range, but his AF is low for him to be betting worse than AQ high here. Unless this was over a huge number of hands and he seemed drunk this night, the raise on the flop is bad.
