Re: $11: Risking too much with jacks on level 3?
If this guy has mini-raised before, I push this.
All the talk about re-evaluating on the flop ignores some key points, IMO: 1) You have alot of FE 2) You likely have way the best hand (if he's a frequent mini-raiser) 3) "Re-evaluating on the flop" is another way of saying "possibly fold the best hand when an over hits" 4) By calling, you're asking for a call from the BB as well 5) It's an 11! You might get called by hands that you utterly destroy. 6) By pushing now, you might slow this idiot down and stop him from mini-raising so much |

This push is extremely easy, in my opinion. Virtually automatic.

Re: $11: Risking too much with jacks on level 3?
If you're playing one $11 at a time and results are SIGNIFICANT to your bankroll - or if you're playing an MTT - treat your pocket Jacks as if they were pocket 8's.
If you're like me and 4-tabling $11's and willing to take minor +EV shots for a chance of having a big stack - push. Or use Stop and Go approach. |

Raise to 400, push any flop without an Ace if both call.
Push any flop at all if only one calls. |

Re: $11: Risking too much with jacks on level 3?
What's the point in that?? Put out 40% of your stack only to fold if an ace falls and both call? That just seems ridiculous to me. There's 20% of your stack in the pot already! Pick it up by pushing. You'll also be called, undoubtedly, by AT and AJ and underpairs.

Re: $11: Risking too much with jacks on level 3?
Agree with tigerite. I pretty much push this without a thought. I hate just cold calling here to "take a look at the flop." It just leaves room for them to catch some ridicuous hand and will leave you to a tough decision if the board is coordinated at all.
Again, you have tons of FE, and also Win equity because donks at $10+$1's love calling all in's with low PP's this stage in the game. I'd be happy just to pick up the blinds and I also wouldn't mind them calling me with something like 88. |

Re: $11: Risking too much with jacks on level 3?
I think pushing is +ev.
I think if you know the texture of the table and/or have some reads on players at the table, calling has far greater +ev. So, I think play according to how much you know about your opponents. |
