Default Beginner Hand Questions

I have lots of questions about hands, so instead of flooding the forum with a new thread everytime I have a question about a hand, I'll just post all my newbie questions here.

I just played the following hand:
PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (12.50 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, CO folds, Button calls, BB calls, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: (8.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, MP2 folds, Button calls, BB calls.

River: (11.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, Button calls $0.02 (All-In), BB folds.

Final Pot: 12.75 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Jd Jh (two pair, jacks and twos).
Button has As 9c (two pair, aces and twos).
Outcome: Button wins 12.25 BB. Hero wins 0.50 BB.

My thoughts were this: I had an overpair on flop, so no action. If I got re-raised, I would have folded, expecting either a higher-overpair, or a set.

When A fell on turn, I bet, assuming that if someone had an A, they would have folded when the flop missed them. If they hadn't, they probably would have reraised with their pair of A.

Still no danger on river, I put the caller on pair of 8s or 6s. Obviously I was wrong. Bad beat, or bad judge? Did I play right or wrong?

From what I've seen. Micro Limits are full of ace huggers, when the ace fell, I think I might have slowed up and called down from there...I've seen lots of instances where someone who hits the pair of aces (or top pair) will just call down.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE thinking. A raise could mean they have an 8, a lower pp, or a flush draw, or even worse hands of a pretty wide variety. If it gets raised, you need to 3-bet, and then if it gets capped, you need to think about calling down. Folding this flop is gaytarded.

Also, you don't necessarily need to post all the hands you have questions about. As many experienced posters will suggest, the best way to learn is to respond to other people's hands and then get told why you are wrong.

BAD ADVICE. bet the turn. If you get raised, you can think about folding vs. a tight opponent, and calling down a known bluff-raiser.

You have to 3-bet if raised on this flop. Wouldn't you expect QQ or higher to reraise your flop raise? If it gets capped behind you and the turn doesn't help, then think about calling down.
