Don't pay for food you don't eat, it's that simple.

Although it seems nice that he orders it for you all everytime.

[ QUOTE ]
my friend always makes $$ at his home game. he orders pizza for us every time, but demands that we pay for it. i don't eat the pizza, but he makes me pay my share. do you think i am obligated to paythis $$?

[/ QUOTE ]

Your friend probably has a different view of what the poker night is supposed to encompass.

He probably views it as more of a social event. In which case, when you invite people over for a bbq or whatever, they never have to pay a cover fee or any of that crap. Most of the time they will be encouraged to bring a dish with them.

This is equivalent for a poker night of bringing your own beer or chipping in for food he orders.

That is fine, however, if you are coming to PLAY POKER rather than coming for a social event I think you should not be required pay anything up front. He is the one hosting out of his own free will. So long as you don't eat anything you owe him nothing. Being courteous is another story but hell if he's a consistent winner that should be enough.

No, YOU'RE cheap.

If you have food suggestions that you'd prefer, bring it up with the host.

I keep waiting for the PizzaLovingHost gimmick account to start a "is my guest cheap?" thread.

Tony and Larry are spot on about this. Be social, chip in a few bucks, and enjoy a slice of pizza.

The way we avoid this issue is to have everyone bring some food if they can, and to BYOB.

Except for there's a couple of us who have keg fridges and/or sometimes guys get kegs (cuz we can go through a pony w/o a problem), then if people wanna drink from that, they can kick in some money to the host. And if they don't wanna kick in, they're cheap and that's their problem.

We usually end up with a ton of kickass food because everyone brings a little something different, and generally the host makes up something a little more exciting.

And if a couple guys can't bring something this time or that time its fine, because we've still got plenty of food.

It works out pretty well, its no pressure, and no drama.

1) Why dont you eat pizza?
2) You are cheap for not paying for pizza.
3) Not a very good question for an internet forum???
