Bad time to be tricky??
So last hand some guy had AA. So I figure why not slowplay mine this time. Thoughts on all streets appreciated. Good idea or did I just suck it up again?

Re: Bad time to be tricky??
Bet that flop..if you had made a strong bet on that flop chances are you would have won the pot right then and not let the gunshot and backdoor flush draw back into the hand.

Re: Bad time to be tricky??
I probably just push preflop or on the flop... waiting until the turn is pointless with so few chips... you will get called on both streets by lots of hands.

Re: Bad time to be tricky??
Why are you playing a $25 table with $4.35?
Why are you slowplaying AA like this? Why are you slowplaying AA when you have such a short stack? 3 strikes..youre out! |

Re: Bad time to be tricky??
Personally, I don't like it too much b/c he's calling you if you go all in on the turn. I don't mind slowplaying Aces or Kings like this when you're short in general, you don't have much downside risk you can maximize your gains, since if he hits a pair or draw he's probably calling you down. And you don't want to scare too many people out of the pot.
But with this few chips, get some in on the flop and get the rest in there on the turn. If he's on a flush draw, he'll likely call. And you're +EV. If he's not on a draw and a flush hits, he folds. And if he's not on a draw he'd likely act the same on the turn or river. So, regardless, you're better off betting harder on the turn. This is how i see it, but hindsight's always easier. Re: Bad time to be tricky??
Push the flop. Do you seriously think you're going to get bet into after a limp-reraise? What could you have?
Also, buy in for a full stack. Deep stacked = where it's at. |
