Default Limp...then bet pot? PLO8 $25

Need some help with how much to bet here (both preflop and the flop).

Full Table $25 PLO8

I'm short stack at the table. Opponents have about twice as much as me.

Dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in late position.

Three limpers in front of me. I limp as well and the BB checks.

Flop (3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img])

check, check, min bet, fold, call....I raise the pot...

I have a sick feeling about both bets...any thoughts?

Thanks,

Ironman Dave

Raise preflop with position (if not the entire pot, a high percentage).

Raising the flop may drop the blinds and a limper or 2 and the action might be checked to you postflop where you should bet again

Yeah, that's the kind of betting that I would have prefered if it was A A 4 or better to me.

So do you all feel the same way about A A (7 or 8) as well? Is that a good enough low to warrent a push?

Thanks,

Dave

Well depends on the table, but if its loose and it should since its 25PL I would just call since unless diamonds or an ace show up im in bad shape. Also that flop is very draw heavy if they got a low draw they arent going anywhere potting it doesnt do much. I could just call and hope for a diamond.

Agree totally.Because of position still may have potted pre flop. On the flop even tho you have top pair and nut flush draw you are now probably playing for half the pot chasing your original .25c definitely wouldnt raise now. See what comes as cheap as possible. If you would have raised pre flop it changes your strategy but at a $25 table like poster said ist so loose it may not. At a higher table raising this preflop in position is a little different but aces with this board at any limit can get you in trouble if you get raise happy. Hope this isnt totally wrong, I'm still learning too. I'm sure Fatbalz and Ribbo if they read this will give you some good advice, gergery too.
