How's this AQo hand?

funny, but i was just reading about this type of situation today in Slansky & Mathmuths "Advanced Texas Hold'em"...

perhaps you ought to have just called the LAG preflop and then again after the flop....

if others around the table know that UTG is loose, so they would have stayed in probably...your raise meant all others had to cold call...maybe trying to drive out is a lesser wrong preflop, but with a call there others may have stayed in and you would have had their money too...

after the flop, you had a 8 cards to make a straight with, and calling may have kept the bb in as well for another round or two...

slowplaying may have been a better move, although i will acknowledge that you take more risk that way...

I think you have to raise the flop. LAG's bet anything, especially crappy draws, so you could be ahead. If you are ahead and miss a bet here you're giving up value. Plus, even if your not you've got solid outs to improve. The raise gets you a free card a decent percent of the time.

I think it's good if BB folds the flop because he gives up his pot equity at that point.

I'd just call the turn bet, you still have solid outs to win.

I'd fold the river, there just isn't anything you beat but a stone cold bluff.
