Default reviews on book that chronicled the Andy Beal game ?

Who's read this book
"Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King, The : Inside the Richest Poker Game of All Time"
and is it worth buying for entertainment?

I can't imagine many have read it cause it's not out yet. June. Howard Lederer on FTP chat said it is a good read though not as a how to obvously.

THanks. I didn't realize that ... there were some used copy on amazon so I thought it was already released to the public.

And yes, it's obviously a book for entertainment not educational value.

I've read a galley. Expect a full review in Poker Player next month. As Howard said, it's not a "how to", but as a story, I found it interesting.

To directly answer your question, I believe it is worth buying for entertainment.

I'm obviously biased so I won't give my opinion on the book's value. But it's not out "now" (unless you read this post after June 2). The book's page on Amazon.com does have a link to first 28 pages of the book, so you can decide if you want to risk the dough.

I've read about the first 100 pages. It skips around different eras and times, telling stories of different people involved in the games. It gives a bit of a background into the players, Beal, etc. I've found it quite interesting as a look into the bigger games and pretty entertaining.

Default It is out

I picked up a copy at my local Barnes and Noble yesterday. $24.95.

Read a couple of chapters, seems a good read.

I read the pages on Amazon and it looks like a great book. I went to order it and it is 24 CDN online, but shipping and handling comes out to 13 bucks...what the hell. I'll just order it through my local Chapters. What's the point of buying books online if the shipping is going to be ridiculous.
