Default 88-hand.

Empire VIP freeroll. 177 entrants, about 65 left. Average stack 2700. 30 places pay.

9-handed. I am UTG+2 w/ 2K in chips. Blinds 75/150.

2 folds, you look down at 8 8. Your move?

EDIT: I pushed the hand right before this and wasn't called, if that matters.

With 13xBB and not ante, you don't have odds to push 88.

I would probably limp, but you could fold or make small raise. Since this a freeroll, the play is probably loose, so I would limp.

It depends. I probably would either fold or push to a raise.

I fold. Stacks not deep enough for me to limp, and table likely too loose for me to raise. Risk/reward of reaching out for the blinds is not great.

I may still raise though depending on the actual stacks behind me (all much shorter than me etc).

It matters, as it increases your chance of getting action. Especially if the table is loose. Which isn't a good thing when you hold a medium pair on these ratios.

I fold this. Stacks are very shallow, you are out of position with a middle pair, and you have just enough chips where you arent desperate, but not quite enough where you can limp or make a standard raise comfortably.

If the table was rather passive, though, I would push it.
