400NL: I\'m seriously confused here.
Table is relatively aggressive but I've been running ridiculously bad and they probably view me as steaming (maybe). Villain is a relative unknown. I check-called the flop to see if he has AK - on the turn I knew he didn't. Then he wakes up... wtf

Re: 400NL: I\'m seriously confused here.
If you are going to c/r the turn make it $58 to go. That way you can easily fold when he comes back over the top of you.
As played I probably just fold turn. If I saw the river the way you saw it I wouldn't call his bet. |

fold turn. He's "tricked" you into playing a bigger pot, now he's moving in for kill. Looks like bad player with monster; his shaking hands can barely work mouse.

throw this away on the turn. I can't think of a hand played like that doesn't have AQ beat.

I can think of nothing you are beating by the turn or river action.

RESULTS
Okay, so the concensus seems to be to muck on the turn. I agree. I probably was steaming, otherwise I would've done that. He had a set, of course. But I saw a weak bet and, of course, I absolutely couldn't resist. And then couldn't fold, for whatever reason (read: tilt).

Re: 400NL: I\'m seriously confused here.
Why didnt you bet ($35-$40) on the turn? Then I would fold to any raise.
Cheaper than check-raising . Ojo_Rojo |

[ QUOTE ] I can't think of a hand played like that doesn't have AQ beat. [/ QUOTE ] In retrospect, neither can I. [/ QUOTE ] Ax of hearts will be played exactly this way by a lot of players. They bet smallish to price their draw in case their ace is no good by itself but take the checkraise personally and try to push you out. I'd rather lead the turn (intending on folding to a raise) and check/call or check/fold the river depending on read. |
