Ok, so I sit down with a brand new screenname and I post in the BB for my first hand. SB is LPP (datamined) but no hands on anyone else.
Party 10/20. We're 5 handed and I'm dealt 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the BB. UTG limps, CO openraises, Button 3 bets, SB drops, I call, UTG and CO call. flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] checked to button who bets, this is an easy check raise right? |

Re: 99
hmm ok I thought I could be tricky and change things around and seem all aggro. I actually made what I consider to be a very loose flop peel. EDIT: not closing the action.

Re: 99
I think a peel is far worse than a c/r. Against unknowns I would fold.

Re: 99
even though everyone's range is probably fairly wide at 10/20? I would agree with you on an A high flop...but isn't there tons of stuff in my favor here including the bdsd, and the pot is huge?

Re: 99
I wouldn't assume the 3bettor had a wide range. This is clearly not a steal situation, so I would assume a pretty solid range for the button, to which you are pretty far behind. If I had some inclination that the button was laggy preflop, and raising light, I would certainly prefer a c/r to a call. I would say most of your equity in this hand is derived from when you are ahead on the flop and remain that way, so protection would be a high priority if I were to continue. UTG and the CO are likely to peel with broadways with bdfds, and hands like AT and AJ, but faced with 2 bets you may encourage some incorrect folds from them.

Re: 99
I c/r this as a standard line. I'm recently reevaluating these types of plays so I could be off base. If i bust out of this tourney early I'll crunch some #s.

Re: 99
I think this is a fold unless you know button's 3betting range to be pretty wide. You are behind everything besides AQ/AJ and these don't always 3bet and don't always bet the flop. Even if you are ahead of button, utg or CO could have a king. Add to all this the fact that button has 6 outs against you almost always when you're ahead.

Re: 99
Preflop is a cap imo.
The way it was played, c/r the flop. If you want to find a fold let them give you more reason to than just preflop action. |

Re: 99
55/88? AT/A9s? other suited broadway as well (QJs?) since we're talking about CO and Button and a weak limper, won't he be 3 betting a lot?
as you can see my instinct was fold so yeah. I'm just trying to play advocate and all that |
