Inducing a bluff
I think this is a real schoolbook example of the case. You agree, or wasn't this play appropriate here?
Villian is 15/6.5/4.4 Party Poker (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 5 folds, Villian raises, Hero three-bets, blinds fold. Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Villian checks, Hero bets, Villian raises, hero calls Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Villian checks, hero checks River: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Mp3 bets, Hero raises... Re: Inducing a bluff
if you are checking to induce a bluff then you should just call on the end as villain will only call your raise if you are beat (his stats indicate he is reasonalbe...)

Re: Inducing a bluff
He is very aggressive after the flop so I was quite sure he would bet any hand at the river.
In my experience some worse players will call the raise with hands like ace high. You have an excellent point though |

Re: Inducing a bluff
If you are inducing a bluff, why are you raising the river? That makes little sense.
If you think he will call you down with a smaller pair, you should bet the turn and river. I don't think it is a good example because the range of hands that your opponent can have is large. |

Re: Inducing a bluff
Villain has KK. He check raised you once and tried to do it again on turn because you fell for it on the flop. On the river he bets because you didn't bite on the turn.
Why do you think he is bluffing? |

Re: Inducing a bluff
Raising the river makes no sense if you believe he has just bluffed.
