Default 400NL: AQo on SB, call the river?

Villain is playing very loose and aggressive preflop, 53/26 after 400 observed hands is the only read.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Button ($135)
Hero ($458.50)
BB ($501.90)
UTG ($369.40)
MP ($152.30)
CO ($283.20)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $2.
UTG raises to $8, 1 fold, CO calls $8, Button calls $8, Hero (poster) calls $6, BB calls $4.

Flop: ($40) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero bets $30, BB folds, UTG calls $30, CO folds, Button folds.

Turn: ($100) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks.

River: ($100) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $80, Hero ???

Reraise this large pf, pick up all that cash on the table.

Then the hand is over.

I would not reraise A/Q out of position here, you are setting yourself up for a big pot out of position with a marginal holding.

I think u need to block this river...

Well, let me re-phrase that. Reraise this large, or fold pf.

I am not sure i would fold A/Q pre flop for 6 bucks into a 40 dollar pot either...

I guess I just don't see why you would want to call here when you could raise large and take down this nice chunk preflop.

You have so many things going for you here. (or atleast i think so, hear me out)

A) pf raiser is a lag 56/26
B) plenty of calls, ie. people disrespecting the lags raising standards/calling with pocket pairs.
C) you in the SB, when you raise large here, you tend you get alot of respect due to where your raising from.

You take this down most of the time here, also, if you do get called, the hand should be fairly easy to play.

Yeah, I see what you are saying... I am just very weary of playing large pots with A/Q oop and am not sure what the long term value of this could be.

This is probably more of a style issue and a sharpe ratio issue (return/std dev.) I think just completing will decrease your std dev tramendously and hence lead to less volatile results whereas raising big may get you a larger return in the long run but raise your volatility...

I would've bet the turn, though that may be wrong. As played you have to call the river. You've shown weakness and a typical LAG will bet here with any two.

I know that a turn bet will make the river more difficult to play, but I think it is profitable in the long run. With a crazy lag, he could have any trash with his flop call, and we are very likely still ahead on the turn. By checking the turn we give him a chance to suck out on the river. Bet $60 on the turn and $100 on the river.
