i just finished a partypoker $1 tourney, so obviously its going to be filled with horrible players. this was a hard hand for me to play, im not going to post the results this time, i just want input on if i played it right or not. no reads, since PP feels that its necessary to change my table every 15-20 minutes.

Seat 2: Kwhite09 (825)
Seat 3: StarTravlr13 (1223)

Seat 10: badbeat_ben (2208) hero (10[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img])
Preflop: UTG calls 50, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, UTG+5 folds, hero raises to 200, everyone folds to UTG who calls.

Flop: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I'm checking it down. Never make bets that can't make money. Can a worse hand pay off here? Not IMO.

yeah it was a donkish play by me. but he showed absolutely no strength by limping in then smooth calling my raise. then he checks every frickin street. i honestly thought he had a small pair.

You have to consider though. If he's trapping, then he's going to come back over the top of a bet. If he has nothing, he won't call your bet. This is a scenario you need to keep in mind whenever you are betting.

That's what I was trying to say. You made it more understandable.

I understood what you were saying, I was just trying to make sure ben did. From his reply, I wasn't sure he understood what you were getting at.

yeah i understand. i made a crappy move, but trust me, i wasnt the only one in the hand playing like a donkey. he wasnt trying to trap me preflop, so i assumed he had a small pair, suited connector, or ace high.

Always bring middle pairs to a cheap showdown if possible, if not don't fret and keep your money.
