I don't understand why there have to be 8 of you. [/ QUOTE ] I sort of wonder that myself... I sincerely hope this team approach of yours in no way involves anything collusive. I think it is a very good idea to have fellow players to discuss hands with, and I also think it's an excellent idea to have a strategy for what limits you plan to play, how often you'll play, how much time you'll devote to studying hands and so on. Getting too careful about such planning though will not help you that much and it's far more important to focus on the actual tactical considerations of how to play the game. |

I sincerely hope this team approach of yours in no way involves anything collusive. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't get that impression...if they are planning to discuss hands for 25% of the time, why would collusion be in the gameplan? Each player would already know the other players' hands and would probably have no reason to discuss it if they were colluding. |

Some reflexive reaction I get from the mere thought of playing poker in teams... |

Re: Is this realistic poker plan
Are you going to start a business of poker players? I'm assuming a 5 day work week for this. BB/100 is also heuristic.
If I screw up any numbers, let me know pls (Probability forum might be better for this post). If you look at it by person: Week 1) 5 days * 3 hours * 60 hands/hr per table * 2 tables = 1800 hands/week. If you're at 1.5 bb/100 hands, that would imply $108 per person. So week 2) 5 day * 3 hours * 60hand/table/hr * 3 tables = 2700 hands/wk. With the same winrate thats $162 per person Week 3 and 4 are the same number of hands (3600 hands/wk) implies $216 per person. So at this point your profit should be $486/person. Of course each person has played around 11,700 hands (~93,600 hands among the 8 of you). This all balances on the assumption that as a group, your winrate is 1.5bb/100. After buying your new monitors you are starting 4/8 with basically the same bankroll that you started 2/4. You arent really making any money according to those numbers the first month. Hope nobody needs to pay the rent. It would be interesting if any resident pros or serious semipros chip in to mention how many hands they play a week. |

Re: Is this realistic poker plan
Makes no sense that the bb would stay the same as u add more tables also were all students nobody needs the money its also not a shared poker bank role most likley. I also mentioned that wed just play 1 month after we got the mointors again at 2/4 to have a larger role for the 4/8

Re: Is this realistic poker plan
Like I mentioned, the BB/100 was just heuristic...if you start at 1.5bb/100 at two tables, then after your hand discussions and study you would in theory get better, but then you add another table so winrate might drop a bit, so in the end those might balance out. Also the number of hands played per week isn't very high compared to the standards of a lot of the big name posters on 2+2 so thats why I just kept it at 1.5bb/100.

Re: Is this realistic poker plan
Thats horrendous i fear that the stakes are to low for the players as they consider a big score to be a 1k win but most have such huge swings a big loss is the same i fear that at 100-200 a week there is no chance they would play.
