Quick Roth IRA/Index Fund Question
I have a Roth IRA at Fidelity and one at Charles Schwab. For convenience sake, I was going to transfer the assets from one to the other. I was wondering which would be better to keep? I'm trying to think in terms of mutual fund selection as well as fees and whatnot.
Also, the assets in my Schwab Roth IRA are in PESPX. It's an index fund that tracks the S&P 400 Mid-cap index. What would be the advantage of keeping it in this fund as opposed to selling that off and buying an S&P 500 index fund? |

Re: Quick Roth IRA/Index Fund Question
If you are going with an index fund choose the one with the lowest expense ratio/overall fees. Don't forget to figure in admin fees.

Re: Quick Roth IRA/Index Fund Question
The MDY ETF is the same as your index fund. The only difference is that it is easier to make monthly investments in a fund than a stock.

Re: Quick Roth IRA/Index Fund Question
I was wondering if anyone has any opinion on Fidelity vs Schwab. And what about an S&P 400 Midcap index fund vs just a regular S&P 500 fund?

[/ QUOTE ] I think you've answered your own question theoretically, now you just need to do the work: 1) Look at the different funds offered by each. 2) Look at the fees offered at each. 3) Pick one. -web |
