Limpraise?
Say I limp in 2nd position with split aces in stud high and a 7 completes. Should I reraise or flat call?

Re: Limpraise?
I think many people like to mix it up here depending on a lot of factors.
1. How many opponents in the pot? 2. Will a raise narrow the field? 3. How live are key cards? 4. If I flat call would it give away my hand just as much as rasing would? 5. Are your opponents observant/good? 6. Will calling now allow me to raise 5th? |

Re: Limpraise?
I'd reraise right there. |

Re: Limpraise?
I'd complete the bet initially unless you have a really tight image and everyone will always fold on third. But I suppose it's good to mix it up every now and then. After limping, I would just raise right then and there and then jam the sh[/i]it out of it.

Re: Limpraise?
If you're not going to raise when it gets back to you, why limp in the first place? And why limp in the first place anyway?

If you're not going to raise when it gets back to you, why limp in the first place? And why limp in the first place anyway? [/ QUOTE ] In a loose game where I expect a couple of callers I would raise. This happened in a tight game fairly late in a tournament. If I raised right after the bring in, I thought I probably would pick up the antes. I was suprised that the 7 raised me. Everyone else folded. I reraised and picked up the pot on 5th street. I was wondering if I should have continued the deception by just calling. |

I was wondering if I should have continued the deception by just calling. [/ QUOTE ] Probably not. Aces are strong but not unbeatable. I would only advocate slow-playing if you're confident that you'll be able to check-raise on fifth. |
