KQ makes trips. Fold to obvious AK?
PF: I raise 2 limpers with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB 3 bets, we all call.
Flop: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. BB bets, 1st limper calls, 2nd limper folds, I call. Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. BB bets, Limper calls, I raise, BB 3-bets, limper folds. I think I can be pretty much 100% certain he has AK, and since I don't have odds to chase my 3 outer, I should fold. |

Re: KQ makes trips. Fold to obvious AK?
You have a lot more than 3 outs to a chop. And you didn't supply a read so I'm not sure you can be positive he has AK.
I think folding here would be pretty bad. |

And if you felt you could be pretty much 100% certain if you were 3-bet, why didn't you just call down? This is a good example of taking an irrational line. |

why not raise the flop? Any reads? I am definitely calling this down.

I'm not even 20% certain he has AK. This could easily be AA or QQ (since you didn't raise the flop), maybe 99 if he's a little nutty, or even KJs. And, you've got 9 outs against any possible holding to at least a chop...ten if he's playing 99. (Edit: d'oh. If he's holding 99 then you've only got 7 outs.) I also like Aaron's point about the flop raise being nonsensical if you're so sure what a 3-bet means. Are you really willing to fold top trips second kicker? |

Re: KQ makes trips. Fold to obvious AK?
You must raise the flop here. You are in last position here and you have no idea whether this guy 3 bet the flop with AK, he easily could be on TT, JJ, QQ, AA, KQs, and at micros, who knows what else.
If he three bets, you can call and see what the turn brings, or just get out right there. If he doesn't 3 bet, he will likely not bet out the turn, which will let you knwo he does not have a K. This is a tough hand to get away from. I definately raise the flop, if that doesn't slow him down, I likely check call unless you can give me a read that tells me this is a TAG. |
