Are you raising because you think you might have many outs (8s and 9s) to the best hand, or are you raising for the sole purpose of gaining a free card for the gutshot?

If BB was still in, I'd say take the free card. However, since he folded, and no other players have showed agression, I'm betting again.

Meh. Not a flop raise I usually make, but it's kind of cute. I think a bet would be reasonable on the turn.

I raise preflop. The way you played it though, well, it looks like something I'd do. I would bet this turn, but I don't think that's right. If you bet, I definately check behind on the river UI. If you check, you're probably going to call a bet on the river, so why not bet the turn and hope to pick it up right now?

Were you planning on raising any un connected flop? If so, why not raise it before hand to take control? You've got four limpers in front of you and in this situation it's likely the BB will call.

I do the PF raise thing from time to time with hands like these, maybe I wasnt feeling it this time around...

Also, this raise isnt my SOP by any means, but its a raise I like making w/ a gutty and a BDFD in a nice little pot and had absolutely no fear of being 3bet and SnG'D. As for the turn, I think given the way the hand played out(original bettor folding on the flop), I have to continue and bet and take a free showdown UI

*grunch*

Why are you raising the flop?

Check the turn and take your free card.

"Monkey see monkey do" doesn't apply to poker.

It wasn't a rhetorical question...why did you raise?

Didn't mean to sound like a smartass just don't understand why you'd raise that flop, unless its for value. I have trouble with that concept sometimes so I'd be happy to hear an explanation.
