New Avatar... what does it mean?

So I heard on NPR that there's this guy with a name similar to my handle here running for governor. Thought since today is election day that it'd be a fun choice of avatar. How uninformed am I?

I'm from Massachusetts, BTW, and did vote today. I'm "unenrolled," if that matters.
