Default cold called on button with KQo after CO opens

Last night I was playing 3/6 on Party and found myself on the button with KQo... the CO, (who was around 40/7, with very low ASB, but high WTSD) open raised... both blinds were very loose (around 50% VPIP) and not aggressive and would likely call his raise with a wide range of hands, but not my 3bet... so I cold called. Was this the correct play, or should I have just 3bet? Or folded right there.

Thanks.

IMO reraising > folding >>> coldcalling. The decision whether to reraise or fold is close because villain is pretty passive preflop, but coldcalling is easily the worst of the three option.

3-betting will likely make your post flop decision a lot easier, but I'm leaning towards folding here. Either way that decision is close, but I think calling is the far worst of the 3 options.

You should probably fold. If villain was aggressive enough that you wanted to stay in the pot, 3bet would be better than CCing.

Fair enough. My logic was that even after 3 betting I would have no fold equity against these guys and the CO would be seeing a showdown once he'd raised PF. So given that I would have to hit a king or queen on the flop to win the pot, I thought having the blinds in there as well would improve my my implied odds as they would call to the river with anything... so why not see the flop for less

I prefer 3bet to cold call.

what does a 7%er raise? One of my problems of interpretation is that right off the bat i can't think "7% means they raise xx-zz, ab-ae sooted, ab/ac off".

On this topic, is there an excel table or something anywhere that shows what a "typical" range of 5% PFR / a "typical" 50% VP$IP shows? That would truly help, and i don't have the statistical knowhow to do it.

I reraise/fold this, but the particular situation is interesting. I still think we need something a little better (or at least soooooted) to cc here, but what an ideal position! Smack dab between these guys, opportunities for this cc play should arise once in a while.

What was your plan for the flop? Fit/fold?

Takes a while to get a reliable figure on it, so it is of limited use, but I would suggest 7% as AA-99 (0.45% each) AJ+ (0.9% each) ATs+ (0.3% each) and KQs (0.3%), depending on their awareness of position obviously.

In my experience a whole lot of suited hands, and overplayed small pairs.
