Default Best Path to 6max...

howdy,

I'm wondering what route most people take to getting to 6max (.50/1 and up) games. I play .50/1 full (1 table), and I'm wondering if I should start by adding tables at full ring, or drop down a level and play 6max, or some other option I haven't thought of. What's best?

i switched from full ring to 6-max at the same level. wasn't really a problem, just have to make the proper adjustments (i.e. loosening up).

I moved down for about 10K from 2/4 full to 1/2 6m. then I went to 3/6 6m.

Play at your current level. I would concentrate on one or the other. If your playing .5/1 I don't think you have enough experience to jump between the 2. Here is a link that may help you.

I played .5/1 - 3/6 full then started playing 6max when Party opened up the shorthanded 3/6 tables. Honestly I wouldn't have been prepared for the success I have had if I had gone another way, there was a definite evolution in my thinking and play that got me more aggressive and comfortable as I moved up in full ring - one that would not have manifested had I jumped right in. It may have been a personal preference, but I like the way things worked out for me.

Good luck.

i think that's probably true. my issue is sometimes i get bored/frustrated playing full ring, and i'm wondering if playing a little 6max would be good for learning/change of pace. I'd like to keep .50/1 full my primary game right now, but I was thinking of depositing money somewhere I can play .25/.50 6max (like maybe UB, I have bonus money there) and playing there once a week or so.

I played .50/1 10max, 1/2 10max (Where i hit varience, dropped $100).

Move to .50/1 6max, moving to 1/2 6max in 6000 hands time.

I dont think there should be a problem switching to 6max at the same level. Just choose the right table or switch when it dries up.
