capping is -EV anyway.

we are almost 50/50 with overpairs without a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. overpairs with a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] have more equity than we do. A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T/K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T have more equity than we do. sets are crushing us.

plus betting takes away his lead, which means we will usually never get to put in more than two bets when we improve. calling his 3-bet means we get to check raise later.

capping is dumb unless you feel you will have the best hand here a decent % of the time. when he 3-bets your check raise it's likely you don't.

This is a point that I don't think was mentioned that I believe seals the deal on the correct line to take. I am dissappointed I didn't think of this earlier. Nice work MD

Two things -- Miles is absolutely right. Sometimes we have the equity edge, sometimes we don't. When we do, it's a thin edge. When we don't have that edge, we're quite likely to be farther behind than we are ahead the times we're ahead. (Got it? If we have + equity, we're probably in the 52/48 range, where when we're behind we're closer to 35/65.) When villain says FU to our check-raise it often means we're not ahead.

If we're 3+-way here, i'm capping all day long, though. HU with a gutter/pair/FD, i'm capping. HU with TP+FD i'm capping. This just isn't the place, imo.

I call this all day long to a BT open raise. You have to make good choices post flop though to make it good.

I agree with leader. I call this in steal situations all day long against aggressive buttons/COs.

I call this against a SB raise with position. OOP is a different story. More power to you if u are turning a profit with it.

With no read on button, i can fold this comfortably without a second thought.

what if button steals a lot?

how low do you go here with 1-gappers? 97? T8? J9?

what about connectors? I assume you call 87s what about 76s?

deep,

Filtering for steals against my BB and suited and unsuited 1-gappers from T8s-64s and offsuit connectors T9o-65o i'm showing a net loss of .39 BB/h, which is essentially a .11 BB/h profit from my posted blind.
