Re: 1st hand TT gets reraised
I guess this is another push/fold spot. I lean toward the fold, I guess.

Re: 1st hand TT gets reraised
what buy-in?
i'm folding this. you're out of position, have a greater than 50% of overcards on the flop and will most likely be behind, unless they're pulling this crap with 77-99. |

Why not just call preflop instead of raise?

Re: 1st hand TT gets reraised
How about the eariest Stop And Go known to man? You don't have much FE with a push but villain might fold for 900+ more on a flop he doesn't like. Since villain could have several hands that beat you but that can still have scary flops (JJ comes to mind) that get him off his hand.

While it's an odd reraise for AA/KK, it's not uncommon for players to make "imprecise" reraises with such hands (or JJ, or QQ) - at least way more often than you'll be shown some lesser pair - even though your opponent here had 99, 77-99 or some other random crappy hand you´re ahead of will not be shown very often. Don't know what buy-in this was (the lower the buy-in, the less of a mistake it becomes), but I´m thinking on average you´re <40% against your opponent's likely range of hands (at least against an unknown vs. some known reckless foolio player). When it goes limp, raise, and someone makes a significant reraise, it's rare that it's done with a worse hand than TT (AK is common, but so are the overpairs). I think you're tweaking your opponent's "likely" range of hands to try and turn a "lucky mistake" into a "smart play." Besides, it's the first hand of the SNG, there's no need to go to war for all your chips in a marginal spot like this, risking missing out on much better future opportunities that (on average) are likely to come your way. |
