No poker room in the near future. Manager was recently quoted saying he didn't think the area could support 2 rooms.

FYI, Foxwoods is moving its room to the lower (non-smoking?) level of the casino.

Not entirely correct. I used to work there. The statement you gave is a bit missleading.

The actual quote said something to the affect of "at the time we closed our poker room, we felt that New England couldn't support 2 poker rooms.". Which, at this time was true. Foxwoods would barely get 15 games going, Mohegan 10 or so on anything but a weekend. Mind you, this was before the WPT hit on TV in 2002. The rest is history.

I have friends in management there and the news is the same, nothing in the near future. But if you know casinos, they dont let any info out till the last minute.

NOT 100% on topic, but I was at Mohegan Sun tonight for the second time since they closed the poker room, and I almost cried walking past those horrific slot machines that took away our beloved room.

That room ruled Foxwoods so much it wasn't funny - and it's 15 minutes closer to my house.

Darn WWE for making me go there tonight and dredge up those memories!

I was watching that RAW Tonight. I went to everyone of the WWE events between 2001 and early 2004 before I moved to Vegas.

Just to clarify, Daryn: I too received one of those letters but it was a relatively long time ago--and I'm apparently no longer on their mailing list.

Did you receive this letter rather recently?

no, the one i got was a while ago. i remember coming on 2+2 and a bunch of other people got it as well. we all laughed about the part about CT not being able to support 2 poker rooms.

I honestly believe that the excuse of not being able to support 2 rooms is B.S.

Slots make more money and don't call in sick or have benefits to be given to them. Simple as that. It's all about the benjamins...
