Right.

But timprov was seeming to imply that this will just be SOOOO difficult because it enough people will just be lazy and refuse to play.

Well...that's their problem and their fault.
If it's a draw/double-forfeit then that's fine.
If one team wins because another team gets lazy that's fine too.
That's life.

Just enforce the forfeits as they happen and move on.
And I still don't fully understand the reasoning behind not having the playoffs (aside from perhaps the people who are just not in the mood to do it and are kind of sick of the whole thing).

Since you seem to think it's SOOOO easy, I nominate you to be in charge if the 1's win.

if you choose 1 i'd suggest you also propose solutions to deciding who gets the last playoff spot (only 1 team has a definite spot) and to who you think the commisioner should be. also, i'd say that anyone that doesn't vote is in essence voting for non-participation and should be tallied as a 3.

otherwise this poll unfairly under-represents the wishes of those folks that have already distanced themselves from HULA. (it's called self-selection bias and applies here) not to be a hard-a$$, but this is only reasonable.

if for instance, 6 people vote for a playoff and 14 people don't vote it would seem kind of silly to go on IMO. if we get votes from 20 folks,a majority want a playoff, and we can come to agreement on who makes the playoff, who the commisioner is, and the rules used for the playoffs then by all means i'm happy to concur.

in all honesty the biggest sticking point for me is deciding who gets into the playoff if we were to have one. i don't know the forfeit history for all the teams (our team received 0 i'm pretty sure), but didn't dave's team (potentially) reach the playoff because of multiple forfeits which were applied in the last week, when forfeits weren't generally awarded in earlier weeks. i'm not sure if this also applies to other teams.

w/no disrespect for the team, i don't really think they're deserving of a spot. but i don't really want to entertain a big fight over who gets in, especially w/no commisioner to decide. but that's just my feelings on the matter.

if, on the other hand, a team wanted to independently arrange a match to play for each other's prize pool share i'd gladly participate.
