Re: Would you call this down?
The way i see it you can't reasonably fold this hand preflop, at least not assuming the table is fairly loose. (If it's thight you might wanna fold it on your first action or possibly raise it to play headsup vs UTG.)
Once the action gets back to you preflop your odds are just too good (i make it about 6½-1) to not see the flop. On the flop i think you ought to be the one doing the 3-betting after UTG check-raises but calling is certanly also ok. Each particular "potential" (FH, overpair, backdoor flush etc) of your hand isn't that strong but there is so many possiblities that combined you might actually be favorite in this hand and you almost certanly have more than your "fair share" of 20% in equity. Turn & River play is pretty straightforward. As for the others my guess is that CO has a premium pair (AA/KK) or possibly AK with a spade. UTG might have 6's and 5's with either A or K kicker or a low overpair (77-TT). Button i'm guessing an overpair (He cold-called 3 bets preflop after all). /Bjorn |

Re: Would you call this down?
what happened to the button on river?
i guess UTG had 2 pair 6,5 CO: high pair with all that action preflop, would it have been wrong to fold? |

Re: Would you call this down?
I'd give you about 3.5 outs. Your two 7's and the runner, runner straight.
I don't see how your could possibly feel the two 5's are outs after it was raised and reraised preflop. IMO, especially given the action on the flop, it's extremely likely that one, if not both have an overpair. You're getting about 10:1 to call 2 cold on the flop, but given the chance it's likely to be raised behind you, I'd fold. T |

Re: Would you call this down?
Well, the button folded for one bet on the river (and the button had the best hand of them all!) Remember, this is Party and they could have anything. A while ago, this would have been a certain fold for me - and of course if the turn didn't hit I'd be out too! With a pot that large, it would be wrong for me to lay this down with anything more than 2 outs.
Yes, there was an over pair. Want to take a guess which one before you have a look? Results in white below: UTG has 8h 8s (two pair, eights and fives). Hero has 7d 7s (straight, seven high). CO has Kc Ah (one pair, fives). Button has As 5h (three of a kind, fives). Outcome: Hero wins 27.25 BB. I am curious as to what Ed Miller or David Sklasky would say about this. JB |

I'll bet CO wonders why he loses money all the time.
