If so, what kind of hands would a reasonable player re-raise to 120 (after another reasonable player's raise to 45) btf? Most likely hands are AA/KK/QQ/AK.

[/ QUOTE ]

I still dontknow if this was 10 or 9 handed or 5 or 6 handed, which does change the complexion of the hand, but I'm a reasonable player (by no means a maniac) and my reraising range is a great deal wider. To think otherwise just because someone appears "reasonable" is faulty thinking.

Given that villian checked the river after the turn got checked through, i think this is a call.

[/ QUOTE ]

he checks that river with the A he deserves the money

I can't see any second-best hands calling his "value bet" on the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you were villian with QQ, you would fold to the $200 river bet?

[/ QUOTE ]

Or JJ, or any underpair.

Also, if villain doesn't have the ace, hero's line sure doesnt look like quads, either. it really is possible (I think I've said this earlier...) the c/r isn't a bluff but rather a worse hand (ala QQ or worse) going for value.

*About hero's line... betting the flop? Yeah, with quads it could be the move, but... Then checking the turn once you have a customer? I'd expect quads to check through flop, or maybe bet the flop, but stay in the lead on the turn.

This was an online 9 handed game. I had never played with the Villian before, and judged him to be "reasonable".
However, i called and Villain turned over A9o to win the pot.

P.S. I stacked him 45 minutes later when he called my AA that i reraised him from 50 to 1500 preflop with 99.

** The issue at hand is NOT whether I would fold to a $200 bet on the river if I were in the villain's shoes.

** Look at the hand from villain's perspective. If I was in his shoes, I would say hero's healthy pf re-raise represents at least QQ.

It was neither. And given the pre-flop action, how can you expect a hand like QQ or worse to be "going for value" at the end?

i assumed it was shorthanded where a reraise doesnt HAVE TO BE the regimented range of AA to QQ.
