2005FPW for $600 at Dell.ca today only

As part of Dell.ca's 7 days of business deals, they have the 2005FPW for $600, free shipping. All flat panel monitors are 10% off, so the 2001FP is $720 instead of the usual $800.

So... do I get the 2005FPW, or wait for a better price on the 2001FP? I hate difficult decisions.

There is minor overlap on the 2005FPW when 4-tabling. Great monitor for viewing documents side-by-side etc but for pure poker I would go with the 2001. I own the 2005.

Great News.....

I just called Dell and they were able to give me a 2001FP for the same price ($599). I don't know if this is a good enough deal for most of you, but for me I am tired of waiting and this is a pretty good deal.

I ordered it and got the free shipping, but had to pay tax on it, came out to $650. Still I am happy with the deal and thought that I would mention it to everyone.

The person who gave me the deal is Maurice. Phone number is 1-800-387-5752 ext. 2248. I asked him if he would give the same deal to others, and he said yes.

That is great news!

I had decided to buy the 2005FPW (I use the monitor for watching DVDs) but obviously the 2001FP is better for poker. But it seems like 2005FPW would be better for games, as the widescreen view is more natural (do most games support widescreen?). Of course, I imagine for websurfing and word processing the 2001FP would be better, as there is rarely a need for more width but more height always allows you to see more without scrolling.

I'll probably end up going with the 2001FP if I can get this price. Thanks for the heads up!

This is way, way overpriced. You can get the 2005 for under $400 (~$350) if you're ok waiting for it.

yah you just missed out on the quarter end sale that ended 7/30. i got two 2001fp's for about $450 each out the door with tax and shipping. but i dont think your gonna find these prices again until the end of this fiscal quarter on 10/31/05. so if your in a hurry, go ahead and buy it. if you can wait 2 1/2 months, you can save like an additional $200-250.
