Default KK hand from 6-max, how did I do?

Villain is 32.4/2.94/0.88 after only 34 hands. Hasn't done anything unusual since I sat down.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) converter

saw flop|saw showdown

Button ($34.70)
Hero ($35)
BB ($75.45)
UTG ($34.80)
MP ($11.50)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.25, 1 fold, Button raises to $0.5, Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, UTG folds, Button calls $1.50.

Flop: ($4.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $3, Button calls $3.

Turn: ($10.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $5, Button raises to $10, Hero calls $5.

River: ($30.50) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $19.7 (All-In), Hero folds.

Final Pot: $50.20

I don't feel good about the way the hand played out but I can't figure out how should I have played it instead. Any suggestions?

When I think more about the hand I think I probably should have bet the pot on flop, either fold the turn or call the turn and call the river, is this correct? Which turn line is generally better here?

I'd bet more than the $5 on the turn but I doubt that made the villain play the hand any differently....

You also might be ahead and have 8 outs against two pair (two kings and 6 cards to counterfeit his hand)

I don't know about that. It's a great board for a pair of kings. I think you want some action here, and I don't mind your $3 bet at all.

On the turn, I'd bet more than half-pot though, as obviously the board just got a lot scarier. If I bet out for $7.50, and he min-raised that or a bit more, good question. I think I could find a fold if the guy was really straightforward, but if he's an unknown I'd call the min-raise and call up to half-pot on any river that doesn't put a four-straight or four-flush on board.

As the hand played out I have no problem with your river fold.

When I played the hand I thought this way too, but betting only little on the flop made my turn decision much harder. After he called my pre-flop raise I don't think he would fold a Queen on that flop.

Thanks for all the replies this far

Personally, I like your preflop bet. On the Flop I probably would have bet him half of his stack and tried to take it down right there. I try to think worst case, he has pocket Qs, I check the turn, if he checks he, he's drawing. Then the river gives the flush away, he bets, I fold. But then again I suck at this game

What I don't understand is that why did you just call the turn bet?
If you're beat, then you should just fold your hand. If CO has two pair, you have 8 outs, and you're getting 5: 25 and you need 17%. If you have a set, you've lost. If he has pocket pair or any Queen, you're a favorite. I think you should either push or fold. Given that you're OOP, a check on the river will just indicate weakness.

I like a c/r on the flop. My read is this guy had QJ... which would be enough to open-miniraise on the button and call with position.
