Default Wake Up makes a Postulate

[ QUOTE ]
Lately a certain Swede ... seems incapable of posting anything useful or ... coherent.
.
I postulate that ... [by] being born in Sweden, one may simply be incapable of ... intricate thought processes.

[/ QUOTE ]

In other words, you are saying that from one Swede you have postulated a theorem concerning all Swedes, right?

...I can't wait to see you giving advice at the Probability Page!

[ QUOTE ]

I like hearing the opinions of the Swedes on this board.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I do too; it's a bit like a contrarian indicator of sorts.

That would be the same thing as my postulating that all Republicans don't know how to pronounce the word "nuclear" just because the President doesn't.

[/ QUOTE ]

Andy,

I think he knows how.

Bzzzzzt! Wrong again, Cyrus! There is nothing in that quote to indicate that he is basing it on ONE Swede. For all you know he could be basing it on multiple Swedes, and just felt like mentioning by way of example a certain Swede who has been posting a lot recently.

You should automatically be aware of the non-implied aspect of his post. If you would wisely acquire the habit of more precise automatic thinking it will likely save you (or others;-)) untold griefs in the future.

True....whenever I'm undecided about a political issue.

I ask as many Europeans what their opinions are of this political issue and then....I take the opposing side.

Default M Saves The Day

"There is nothing in that quote to indicate that [Wake Up CALL] is basing it on ONE Swede. For all you know he could be basing it on multiple Swedes, and just felt like mentioning by way of example a certain Swede who has been posting a lot recently."

Just as I expected.

OK, then, let's settle it: Let's have Wakey come forth and tell us who are these "multiple Swedes" on which he is basing his "postulate", or what other basis he has for it, e.g. meeting "multiple Swedes", reading a lot about Swedes, journeys to Sweden, studying Swedish culture and history, or watching Swedish movies, etc.

Swedish porn don't count.

Wake up CALL could be basing it on various Swedes who have posted in this forum, Cyrus. And I think that for this purpose you qualify as an honorary Swede.

He knows how, but at this point is unwilling to give his detractors the satisfaction of seeing him change.

So why not allow Wakey to explain things? He is prefectly capable of making a fool of himself without your help.

Yes, I'm sure the last defence will be to use the term metaphorically.
