Opponent in this hand is pretty bad. I don't expect him to fold a 9-decent kicker or a ten to a moderate sized raise, or maybe at all. What's my plan from this point forward? Should I have played the flop differently?

on the turn you are semibluffing. value of semibluffing lies in fold equity. if your opponent will not fold, check.

rarely you think fold equity is low but still bet when out of position because your opponent-with-position is likely to bet a lot bigger if you check but will not raise a substantially smaller bet. in other words, it can make sense to throw out a blocking bet, but it's rare.

i agree with matt here. i think the chances you get him to fold are too small, and the chances that he bets the turn very large where he would have just called if you bet out are small.

I agree with what you've written, and that was what I was thinking during the hand.

But, I check the turn with intentions of what? What is the plan for the rest of the hand?

If he's at all aggressive it would seem standard that he's gonna figure you for overs and try to push you off the hand with whatever, whether he's holding a draw or not. If he's fairly passive, check, but otherwise a blocking bet makes more sense to me. If all he's got is a Ten, its even a value bet.

well you gotta play poker. no set answer. sometimes he checks. fine. sometimes he bets. you can check-raise him. that strength will usually get him to lay down a smaller pair. also you have 9-15 outs. or you can check-call, although that kind of play in general doesn't win money. check call makes more sense if you can fire on the river if any overcard comes and often take it down. but that's a big money / high variance play that can lose a lot over the long haul if your timing is off.

you can also just put out that blocking bet. bet 2/3 the pot.

headup you might have wanted to check raise on the flop. and see fourth if he doesnt bet. you are the favorite against most hands he might have yet want to keep the pot fairly small if you dont hit and can win a double up if you hit as there are alot of cards that can make him something if you hit. this is a differnt scenario because of the straight cards out there. so if he forces a big pot play it for all you got. and if he doesnt trap him.

A similar hand that I played once...
At the woods 5/5. I open raise to 20 with AKs and 1000 behind me. Cold called by someone in late position that has me covered. Flop comes down 9TJ, with two of my suit. I bet 50, he called. Turn is a brick. I check, he bet 125, I checkraised to 350.
