Default $8/$16 at Bicycle Casino

Table is tough...full of props and tight players. Often there is 2 to 3 way action with very aggressive action, so it plays much like a higher stakes game.

The villain is somewhat loose and aggressive. He will raise on draws and make check-raises on top pair and such. An extra piece of information is I've burned villain a couple of times before, and in the back of his mind I know he wants to get me.

I'm in CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and open. Villain calls in BB.

The flop comes: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villain leads. He will usually check-raise a made hand. What's your move?

My standard line is to call the flop, and pop the turn. Reason being that I get an extra SB out of him this way while getting that money in when his equity is, hopefully, lower than it was on the flop. Your read seems to indicate that the one hand he does not have here is a Q. I'm not rushing to put him on clubs though. I think the worst possible turn card is a 6, followed by a 3. Any other card, I raise on the turn. I'm raising 3s too.

Default Results and thoughts...

Probably not very interesting. Initially I thought he was on a club draw. I thought about just calling down, but that seemed weak. I raised, he 3-bet and I folded. Live at the Bike Archives showed he just had JTo.

Um, table change? I'm sure there are 30/60 games at the Bike that are a cake walk compared to this.

Call and raise a blank on the turn.

bizarre line, Garland. I don't get it. Your read says he doesn't have a Q. For some bizarre reason you think he has clubs. Why? Because 2 clubs are on the board. Of course he has clubs. So you raise the flop where, IF he had clubs, he might even be a favorite to win the hand.... and then fold to a 3bet???? So very backwards and confusing. Do you get that IF he had clubs, this is the WORST way to play it? Do you get that IF he had clubs, he would be 100% correct to 3bet if he has just ONE overcard? Why in the world to you instantly discard your before the hand read AND your bizarre flop read???

If clubs is your read, call the flop, raise the turn when his equity is significantly lower. Don't be put off by a 3bet on the turn as donks like to semi-bluff. Also, don't rush to worry about clubs in a HU pot.

I was on this table specifically to be on Live at the Bike and the sharpen and remind myself of the limit game since I've switched to no-limit for the better part of the last year and a half.
