Default What adjustments to make to Party Structure...

for hi/Lo 1/2$ with a 25 cent ante.

I play about half and half at Stars which has a 10 cent ante and Abso which has a 22 cent ante, with success at both but more at Abso mainly because I play more hands there, I play both sites the same way pretty much.

So it seems to me that jumping into Party wouldn't require a huge change in strategy, but I remember thinking it was a big difference a while ago.

Any thoughts on necessary changes to make in your game etc if you're used to these lower antes?

In big ante games the key is to be aggresive and fight for the antes a little more.

also since the pot is bigger stealing doesnt have to work as often as normal to show profit.

But since this is $1/2, stealing isn't going to work often enough for it to be an important part of your strategy.

In stud/8, whether it be Party's $.50/1.00 game with a $.25 ante, or a $10/20 game with a $1 ante, the bottom line is that you're going to have to show down the best hand in order to win. What's playable in one game is usually going to be playable in another. The differences lie mostly in those hands that you want to play cheaply. I'll usually limp in early with (72)7 in my local $6/12 game, because I'm usually going to be able to see fourth street for $2. I am more inclined to ditch the same hand from early position in the local $30/60 game, because it's very likely to get raised behind me.

This was my main concern, with bigger initial pots, I'd be much more inclined to steal, as I am on Abso, but thing is I'll get called down and just burn bets, so I didn't really know where the appropriate change was to be made. Hands that you want to see 4th etc. really cheap makes perfect sense to me though.

Thanks for the thoughts.
