Default Simple blackjack edge things.

Im sure this has been discussed so if anyone knows of a thread that gives the numbers for the following I'd appreciate it, I dont play BJ but just curious as to what these are:

What is the houses edge against a player using basic strategy on six deck shoe?

What is the edge of the house/player counting cards on a six deck shoe?

What is the dealers edge v. a player using basic strategy against an infinite deck?

What is the dealers edge v. a player counting against an infinite deck?

using optimal vegas strip rules (S17 DA2 DAS Sp3 SpA3 LS), house edge on six deck shoes is less than 0.3%. with a simple level 1 count system like Hi-Lo or KO, a player might be able to build an overall advantage of about 0.5-1.0% using a decent spread, and backcounting if possible.

there is no such thing as an "infinite deck". even if the table has a continuous shuffle machine, the off-the-top expectation is based on the actual number of decks which are loaded into the unit. most CSM's have 4 or 5 decks inside, which provide a slight benefit to a non-counting basic strategy player vs. a 6 or 8 deck shoe. however, most vegas auto-shuffle tables hit on soft 17, so that benefit is nullified. and of course, there is no point trying to count cards against a CSM.

It depends. Does the dealer Hit or Stand on Soft 17? Can you double down on any two cards? How many times can you split? Can you double down after split? Can you re-split Aces? Can you surrender? Late or Early? All these rule variations, and others, effect the House Edge.

See above. What count system are you using? How far into the shoe is the dealer dealing before shuffling? What is the ratio of your small bet to your large bet? Are you playing every hand? How many hands at a time are you playing? How many playing indexes are you using? Are you using a side count? All these things would effect your edge.

Pretty close to an 8 Deck shoe, after 8 Decks adding more decks doesn't effect things that much.

If there is an infinite number of decks then counting would be useless, since an infinite number of decks implies that the next card is just as likely as any other, despite how many cards have been dealt just like it.

From Stanford Wong's Professional Blackjack:
Benchmark: Six deck, 1 cut off. Stands on soft 17
double any 2
resplit to 4 hands
no surrender
3:2 for blackjacks
-.54%

for 2 deck: -.32%

Rule changes:
dealer hits soft 17: -.20%
double 10 and 11 only: -.17%
double 9,10,11 only: -.08%
lose all on doubles/splits vs. natural: -.11%
double after splits: .14%
resplit aces (on 4 or more decks) .08%
late surrender: .08%
early surrender: .6 or .7% (doesn't explain why the 2 figures)

So average Vegas 6 deck with DOA, DAS, S17, rsa, surrender is .24%
You should be able to figure out any other varieties from this. To refer back to this, you can go to www.bj21.com and on the left under links click "basic strategy".
