Default Mohegan Sun 20-40 Hold\'em

Does anyone know if the Mohegan Sun Poker Room has done anything to try and get back their 20-40 hold'em game? For the first few months since Foxwoods went to a rake on their 20-40 instead of time charge and gave out bonus comp points I know that the Mohegan Sun game has been spread sporadically at best.

I have begun playing at Foxwoods since this game is almost always going with at least one table, sometimes two. I would prefer to play at the Sun and hope Peter makes the effort to get the game back.

I"m not sure why anyone would go to the Sun to play Hold'em, unless the better scenery is important to you.

I've been to Mohegan too many times when the only Hold'em games going were 3/6 and 20/40, neither of which appeal to me.

Foxwoods had a bunch of 2/4 and 4/8's, 4 5/10's, 3 10/20's, and 3 20/40's with a list for 40/80 tonight.

I haven't been to Mohegan in weeks, but I heard the 20/40 game is all but dead there.

I was there about three weeks ago or so on a Saturday night, and the desk was taking names for a 20-40, but I don't think it ever got going. They only had one 10-20 and one 5-10 hold'em game. Both games were very good, but it took forever to get onto a table.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and there wasn't even a 10-20 game going. There were a bunch of 5-10s. Whats worse is that there is a kill at $65 which makes it pretty hard to win money consistently. Not to mention the long waits if you get there anytime after 11 AM on Saturday. Mohegan would need to do something drastic to get higher limit games back there.

You'd rather play poker at Mohegan???

I have no problem recommending the Sun for traveling casino goers. In many ways, it's a better overall experience than FW. But for poker, Foxwoods is head and shoulders the better place to play.

Yes. I would rather play at Mohegan if they had a game going. I live near Hartford, so the drive to Mohegan is more pleasant and ten minutes shorter.

I also like the restaurants at Mohegan better and they sometimes have great entertainment outside the poker room at the Wolf's Den. The stores are nice and I also like the hotel (although the Grand Tower at Foxwoods is also very nice).

I also think the poker room at Mohegan is better lit, although it is more enclosed and sometimes loud. It seems to me that the poker room at Foxwoods is cleaner than Mohegan.

I also had gotten to know some of the players who now don't play at Mohegan or Foxwoods.

I was at Mohegan Saturday and they did have a 20/40 going. I prefer the 5/10 w/ a kill at $65. It creates a great game (especially since some of the players don't adjust to it.)

The most important piece of advise is to call ahead (about an hour ahead of time) to put your name on as many lists as you are interested in playing. By doing this I have skipped ahead of lots of people to get on a table that have been waiting for an hour. I'm not sure why everyone doesn't do this.

I agree with Sun's comments. I just played the 5-10 with the modified kill Saturday night for the 1st time. I think there was a lot more action than when the kill was at 96 and I found the game somewhat easy to beat even with a couple of rocks in the game. I plan to make that my first choice rather than Foxwoods until such time as that perception changes for me. But keep in mind that 5-10 with some kind of kill is my game of choice.
