Default Why no Holdem/8?

Has anyone ever tried out Holdem/8 at a home game? If so, how was it.

I am just curious if there is some obvious reason why it isn't played anywhere. I understand that when you compare it to a game like Omaha/8 there will be a lot fewer ways to scoop only playing around with 7 cards as opposed to 9, but this problem would seem to be just as bad in 7 Stud/8, and that is at all the major online sites. I would expect that this would be a really good game against loose/passive types.

the community nature of the board is prohibitive to a split game. this is limited in omaha by the two hole cards must play rule. also. A2 would become a ridiculously powerfull hand. I think this game would have too much luck involved to be long term profitable.

I really enjoy playing O8 online. However, I'm still relatively new at it and sometimes I have to study boards and hands to make sure what a player has.

That means in addition to the chore and time required in splitting a pot, in a home game there is going to be time spent arguing over the value of the hands.

Online, the computer does all this.
